As a charitable society, we strive to attain transparency in our operations. Consequently, we will be posting various documentation relating to the organization on this website for you to view at your leisure. You will able to see a summary as well as the minutes from each meeting, and eventually a financial report of what we do with the funds coming in. Official Mandate

   There are two main objectives that the Dalhousie AIDS Relief for Children Society, hereby referred to as One Moment, wishes to accomplish. The first of which is to raise funds and awareness to aid children under the age of 15 affected by HIV & AIDS. This is done by hosting a wide arrange of charity events which will either promote awareness of the epidemic itself, collect funds to combat the epidemic, or both. With the collection of funds acquired through the school year it will be then donated to an established Canadian AIDS charity of our choice to use the money at their discretion. The choice of the charity will depend on a pre-arranged agreement where it is discussed exactly where the funds will be put into and thus allowing the One Moment Society to choose a charity that will best utilize the allocated funds in accordance to our goal.

   The second objective is to create awareness within the local populous themselves. This awareness is not to do with the epidemic itself, but rather a realization in one’s own mortality. Life is made up of our time on earth, and a lot can happen in that time. Whether it be a year, a month, a day, an hour, or a second a lot can happen within that unit of time. However there are many of those who would rush through life and pass those seconds by without a second thought. This society is here to make sure one can take a break from life itself and for at least one second, take a moment for oneself.
